I haven't contested the ban as I have no use posting there anymore but definitely could if I wanted. Lately they banned me again just for pointing out how they were deleting any threads mentioning how the game won't play or how bad the UI is, etc. I got banned just for pointing out that you can make more money selling dirt than bricks in Wurm Online, so I reported them to the Steam admins and got unbanned. Another thing I should mention is that you will get banned from Wurm forums on the official site and on Steam if you make any negative remark about the game. Wurm Unlimited was made to boost Wurm Online's population, and has only decreased it by a large number, the developers will consider it a failure and scrap it while Wurm Online continues to decline since so many players already sold their accounts and disbanded their deeds they will not want to return. What I'm getting at is the future of Wurm Unlimited and its MMO counterpart looks bleak at best. He even implied that the official Wurm Online servers may shut down one day. I expect Wurm Unlimited to receive less and less support, perhaps Rolf will intentionally pull the plug on it when Wurm Online's population gets low enough. However this plan has backfired horribly as many established Wurm players quit the game to play Wurm Unlimited, which they will not have to pay a subscription for. Last year it was Challenge, before that it was Xanadu, this year it is Wurm Unlimited. That is why every year CodeClub tries some sort of gimmick to get more players in the game. Traders get silver from new players, so when new players are not joining Wurm Online that means the established players might have to dip into their own pockets to pay for premium. Wurm Online can best be described as a pyramid scheme with Rolf on top and then a hierarchy of established players who drain traders in order to pay for their premium. All of this game's positive reviews here and on Steam will come from Wurm Online fanboys who have a vested interest in protecting Wurm's reputation due to the hundreds and thousands of dollars they have spent on the MMO counterpart to Wurm Unlimited. This game was very poorly optimized and would not even play on most computers at release because the developers forgot to include some C++ This game was very poorly optimized and would not even play on most computers at release because the developers forgot to include some C++ patch. I mainly play on a PvP server (Defiance MR) in Wurm Online and can only recommend this game. Of course there is always a risk, but you don't have to worry about getting killed all the time, especially if you join a community. Of course, this sounds like a peaceful life is not possible on a pvp server. Cities and fortresses (did I mention that everything is built by the players?) can be raided, but with a good defence you can also fend off such a raid. Various kingdoms fight for supremacy on the map. But you can listen to a podcast or watch videos/movies/series and chat with your neighbours. The grind (in WU, depending on the server setting) naturally also brings monotonous tasks into the game. The gameplay is very relaxed in most cases. Building, digging, mining, farming, are just the most basic things, because there are so many skills and so many things to do. Building, digging, mining, farming, are just the Wurm Unlimited/ Wurm Online is my absolute favourite game. Wurm Unlimited/ Wurm Online is my absolute favourite game. It's what I'd like to call "rails-optional". You get to work on ascending to godhood, to gain powerful sorcery items, or do what ever! Totally up to you. That doesn't even touch the Adventure mode, which allows a player who has never played Wurm get a real feel for some of the aspects that even MMO players never really experience. There's a Linux-based dedicated server for cheap, cost-effective hosting. Each "server" is in it's own folder, so I can easily make copies, zip up the good ones and store them for later, or switch between if I goof up too badly. The game is rather easy to launch and manage. The community has already created some wonderful tools that allow you to make custom maps, and the modding community is just getting started. Not only can I use a GM-level character to build anything I desire, but I can run a server and share it with my friends. Wurm Unlimited has changed that for me, and yet still offers so much more. I always felt my creativity was limited by the need to gather resources and put more time into making it real than I could give. I always I have played and loved Wurm Online for over three years, but always wished I could have more freedom to do what I want in the game.
